Margene Bullcreek devoted her life to protecting her community and the land she called home. Her courage, persistence, and love for her people made her one of the most respected voices in the Skull Valley Band of Goshute.

Born in Tooele, Utah, and raised on the Skull Valley Reservation, Margene Bullcreek grew up with a deep respect for her people and their traditions. Her journey began in community service, learning tribal law and working to strengthen her community’s voice.
Defending the Land
Courage in the Face of Opposition
When the proposed Private Fuel Storage project threatened to turn Skull Valley into a nuclear waste site, Margene stood firm. She organized her community, founded Ohngo Gaudadeh Devia (OGD), and led protests, petitions, and legal challenges.
She believed that true sovereignty meant protecting the land even when it meant standing up to powerful interests
